Mark Grady has been in the field of restoration since 1986. He trained and served a five-year apprenticeship with a renowned Antique Furniture Restorer in Chobham, Surrey. Later, he was appointed Head Polisher at Sotheby's Restoration Workshop, Billingshurst, Sussex. He established Surrey Restoration in 1995 with Emily McGhee. Emily McGhee has a BA in Fine Arts & History, Sydney. After completing a Fine Arts course with Sotheby's Institute, London she joined their Furniture Department in New Bond Street. She later trained as a furniture restorer and worked in the Sotheby's Restoration Workshop.
